SAYING IT WITH GIFTS: Domestic pharmaceutical companies like Ranbaxy, which manufactures anti-AIDS drugs, will benefit in a big way from the deal signed with the Clinton Foundation.

These firms will hike their capacities and cut prices as soon as they receive high volume/value orders from the foundation for supplies to the developing countries.

The Clinton Foundation has struck a deal with some countries to supply anti-retroviral drugs at less than Rs 6,800 per person a year. These countries will fund the treatment of over 2 million patients by 2008, thus providing huge business to the Indian firms.
