Outstanding features: From a company known for its printers, HP PhotoSmart 945 is a 5-megapixel camera with 8x optical zoom that delivers good prints. It has unique adaptive lightning technology that enables images to look more vivid and natural. There is a 2-inch LCD for reviewing photos or using as a viewfinder.
If you have the latest HP colour photo printer, images can be printed directly by simply attaching it to the camera via a USB cable.
The camera stores photos on the bundled 32Mb SD card. With auto-exposure, red-eye correction feature and auto flash, this should satisfy the photographer in you.
Recommend a digital camera
Drawbacks: You will need a cover to carry this camera along. Also, it has an USB 1.1 interface, resulting in slow transfer speeds to the PC.
Final word: An average camera with some unique features. If you do not mind the size and USB 1.1 interface, the HP PhotoSmart 945 is not a bad pick.

Outstanding features: Like its predecessor, the V570, this also features a dual lens by Schneider-Kreuznach C-Variogon, each of 6-megapixels. It is one of the world's smallest 10x optical zoom cameras, featuring a 2.8-inch widescreen LCD that is clear and crisp even in sunlight.
It stores still images in a JPEG format, and video files in an MOV format. A new feature is the Bluetooth 2.0, which lets you wirelessly transfer images or videos to EasyShare printers, PDAs, PCs/ Laptops (Bluetooth enabled) or even Kodak printing kiosks.
The internal 32Mb memory is low, but the camera supports SD/ MMC cards. There are 23 scene modes that can enhance your shots further.
