First business school in Kashmir

Kashmir will soon have its first business school with Wigan & Leigh College India setting up a campus in Srinagar in August.

''To begin with, WLC will offer both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in business management, advertising and graphic design, media studies and fashion technology,'' said Vinay Pasricha, director, WLC India

WLC India, a part of Wigan & Leigh College, United Kingdom, will offer a 50 percent scholarship to 20 meritorious students, he added.

The entrance examination, Wigan Aptitude Test, is scheduled to be conducted in May, June and July.

Pasricha said the college will also offer paid traineeship and tie-ups with international universities, ''The traineeship programme is the heart of our teaching methodology. We believe that learning must not only take place in the classroom, but simultaneously at the workplace.''
