What: The Common Entrance Test for the medical and engineering courses in Maharashtra will now be held on May 12 instead of May 7.
Details
This is being done to help the 175,000-plus students who appear for CET every year.
The All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) is scheduled on May 8. Holding CET on May 7 would have made it inconvenient for students, since many appear for both the examinations.
Also, the CET examination centres are in districts whereas AIEEE centres are at Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur. It would have been tough for the students to reach a different venue within such a short time span.
The results of the state CET will be declared before June 15.
