Virgin Atlantic Airways has announced a 10 per cent discount in air fare for Indian students and a five per cent discount for their family members.

The offer can be availed from this month till November 30 this year, said a senior company official.

According to the scheme, students travelling to UK from both Delhi and Mumbai can avail a discount of 10 per cent on all classes (upper class, premium economy, economy) for a one-way and return journey, valid upto one year.

The airlines, Britain's second largest long-haul airline, also announced a five per cent discount on tickets for friends and families of these young scholars. This offer is valid till March 31, 2006.

"Our continued endeavour at Virgin Atlantic has been to discover ways and means to encourage student travel, thereby helping the young aspirers achieve their goals," said Andrew Fyfe, regional manager of Virgin Atlantic for India and Middle East.

"As a discerning airline, Virgin addresses the two key requirements of students with the introduction of this special scheme, a competitive fare structure and a liberal baggage allowance. Not only are the students the beneficiaries of this scheme, but we have also accommodated their relatives by way of a special discounted offer," he said.

Virgin Atlantic flies daily non-stop flights on the Delhi-London-Delhi route and thrice-weekly flights on the Mumbai-London-Mumbai route.
