The course: BSc Nautical Science (three years), offered by the International Institute Of Maritime Studies And Research.
Are you eligible?
You need
-Higher Secondary Certificate (60 per cent aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XII and 50 per in English in Class X or Class XII).
-Less than 20 years as on October 10.
-Medically fit with good eyesight (6/6 vision), no colour blindness.
-Unmarried.
After clearing the oral exam at the end of the course, which will be followed by on-board training for a year, students may be employed as Third Officers in foreign-going ships. Subsequent experience and examinations will lead to rank of Chief Officer and Master (captain of the ship).
