Playing hide-and-seek with Raageshwari

We asked readers to tell us if they had grown up or studied with movie or television celebrities. And we got a great response!

Sharing his memories is Anand Sharma, who lived in the same building as Raageshwari.

I stayed in the same building as Raageshwari Loomba when I was in Standard 4. Raageshwari (or Pashu, as she was called then) lived on the second floor while I lived on the third.

Being South Indian, it was initially very strange to hear a surname Loomba those days. Pashu and my sister (Shyamala) were of the same age and were close friends. Pashu's brother Rishabh was older than me.

Her dad always played the synthesizer, and we would always hear all kinds of music coming from their house. I believe he was a struggling music composer in those days.

Pashu adored cats. I remember she had a white kitten. My fondest memory of her was the times we played hide-and-seek in the building and when we played Holi.

It's been many years since and now, we have lost touch with them.

Grew up with a star in the same neighbourhood? Studied with them in school? Had a star friend in college? Hung out at the canteen together? Bunked classes? Maybe even hit on the same pretty people?

What were they like? What did you think of them then? Did you ever foresee their success?

We look forward to hearing from you.
