At a small and cosy event at Mumbai's J W Marriott hotel on Monday, the cast and crew of the upcoming Bollywood film Aksar celebrated the completion of the making of the movie.
Produced by Shyam and Narendra Bajaj, Aksar is a romantic-suspense drama that focuses on the mind games between three characters played by Emraan Hashmi, Udita Goswami and Dino Morea.
Besides the lead cast, Rajat Bedi, Tara Sharma, and Zayed Khan were also present at the do. Although the guests chose to appear more fancy, with women in studded kurtis and button-down collared shirts, the stars appeared more casual.
Dino wore washed-out jeans and a white corduroy blazer over a cotton tee he found at the Euro-chic shop Lounge in Manhattan. Both the svelte Tara and Zayed decided upon a pair of dark jeans. Tara matched hers with a rich red bedazzled halter while Zayed wore his with a wide-striped blue-and-white collared Diesel shirt. Emraan wore a white bomber jacket with silver buttons -- picked up from Kink, a store in the Mumbai suburb of Bandra -- over his jeans.
This being my first Bollywood affair, I was surprised to find the guests in a man to woman ratio of about 3:1. Besides, people seemed to stick to their usual groups, rather than interact freely with others.
Although the party was scheduled to begin at 8:30 pm, it did not start until 11 pm. Let's hope that doesn't happen to the launch of the film, which is scheduled to hit theatres on January 26.
