On the flip side, the man has been accused of being unoriginal. If Hollywood's Reservoir Dogs, The Usual Suspects, and Heat inspired Kaante, Suicide Kings was rehashed as Plan (co-produced by Gupta and Sanjay Dutt).
Dutt and his company, White Feather Films, is now ready with their latest offering, Musafir.
Reported to be a 'loose remake' of Oliver Stone's U-Turn, Musafir features Dutt, Anil Kapoor, Aditya Panscholi, and Sameera Reddy.
As an aside, Suniel Shetty and Sushmita Sen were the original choice for Panscholi and Reddy's roles.
Vishal-Shekhar, who composed the music for Sujoy Ghosh's Jhankaar Beats, have scored the music for Musafir. The music has been arranged by MTV veejay Nikhil Chinappa.
Shot mainly in Goa, the action drama, which was promoted at the recent fifth International Indian Film Academy Awards in Singapore, is scheduled for an August release.
