La Dixit is in a fix.
Madhuri Dixit is now faced with a big question: Whether to pursue a career in Hindi films or be with hubby dearest in the US.
The lady is beeing wooed big time by filmmakers.
If she has, on the one hand, central roles in B grade setups, she also has offers from topnotch filmmakers.
Consider: Producer Vashu Bhagnani and director Anupam Kher were chasing her for Om Jai Jagdish, -- Madhuri refused the film because she did not have the requisite dates.
And now, Yash Chopra is said to have sent feelers that he would like to cast Madhuri in a film which features his son Uday Chopra in the lead and Amitabh Bachchan essaying a stellar role.
So. Husband or films? Home or career? The United States or India?
Or, to take the optimist's view out, both?
Mahesh Manjrekar: Busier than a bee!
You always thought it was only stars who were too busy shooting double and triple shifts, right?
Here's a non-star with an unbelievable schedule. And here's a glimpse into a typical day for Mahesh Manjrekar: Recently, Mahesh Manjrekar was shooting for producer N S Pachisia's Tera Mera Saath Rahe at Bombay's Kamalistan Studios with Ajay Devgan, Sonali Bendre and Namrata Shirodkar from nine am to ten pm.
Pack-up announced, Mahesh rushed to Filmcity, where he was shooting for Pitaah with Sanjay Dutt and Nandita Das till the wee hours of the morning.
Next morning, Mahesh would appear prompt on the sets again, waiting to goad his artistes into giving a perfect shot.
Only hope the quality of his work does not suffer with his shift system.
Vivek's new direction
He had a good beginning.
Unfortunately for Vivek Mushran, being introduced by Subhash Ghai (in Saudagar) did not help much in any way.
Post the debut film, godfather Ghai didn't do much for the protege either.
Vivek, meanwhile, decided to shift his focus to the small screen, and is now busy with serials.
What's more, he has also been training his vocal chords and is ready to embark on a career playbacking in films.
An if all goes well, Vivek will be cutting a disc soon.
Saif, not sorry as second best!
No solo hero roles for him, he saw.
So Saif Ali Khan took the next logical step: Stepped into the second lead and parallel hero roles.
Saif is now playing second fiddle to Hrithik Roshan in Na Tum Jano Na Hum, produced by Pantaloons. He is also playing second lead to Tamil star Madhavan in Vashu Bhagnani’s new film, a remake of the Tamil hit, Minnale.
He philosophises, "I look at my role and not the length or the other cast of the film."
And if his thinking has changed and so has his attitude, it is thanks to the fact that he has changed his secretary, wife Amrita Singh, and decided to take a lot of the decisions himself.
It's been a short tryst.
The runaway bride!
Sushmita Sen has called it quits with restaurateur-businessman Sanjay Narang.
Apparently, Sanjay was keen on an early marriage while Sushmita was more keen on pursuing a career at the moment.
So while Sanjay was ready for marriage, Sush wasn’t.
And if that is so, one wonders. Will Sushmita be returning the solitaire that Sanjay presented to her?
