I'm yet to get a copy of the order: Santoshi

Exhibitors have gone ahead and released Rajkumar Santoshi's Lajja all over the country, despite an interim injunction passed by the Madras city civil court staying the release of the film.

The court in its order has directed Santoshi Productions and Mega Bollywood to settle their dues as it may cause unnecessary problems for their creditors.

When contacted, producer-director Rajkumar Santoshi said, "I am yet to get a copy of the order. But the release of the film cannot be stopped as deliveries of the prints have been made."

Apparently, Santoshi still owes Anand Cine Service, Gemini Industries and Imaging Limited, and Asian Capital Consolidation and Holdings Private Limited a total of Rs 13.5 million for post-production work on Pukar, Ghatak and Lajja.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that VIP Enterprises, distributors of Lajja, are challenging a notice issued to them in connection with these dues. The case is likely to come up for hearing on September 3 in a Bombay court.

A spokesperson for VIP Enterprises said, "We have got nothing to do with the pending dues; we were not involved in those projects."
