A little birdie told us that a well-known filmmaker, from the not-so-commercial cinema but definitely one of the most sought-after names now, got the shock of his life when he got feelers from none other the Sen.

She made it clear that she wanted to work in his film -- that too, on his terms and conditions. But what shocked the filmmaker was the tape that came along with the emissary. The message was very very clear: this was the film he could consider making with 'Madam' and Sanjay Dutt.

And that Sanjay Dutt's dates and consent had been settled by 'Madam'.

My baby, my people!

While everyone presumed that it had to be a baby boy -- why else would Boney Kapoor and Sridevi go ahead and plan another baby! -- it was not to be. Sridevi delivered a bonny baby girl.

All through her pregnancy, Sri worked hard to keep herself in the best shape possible. And stuck to her specially designed suits (trousers and jackets as formal wear and jeans and a long shirt for casual).

Come D-day, Boney stood by wifey Sridevi through her labour, even had a mobile van parked outside Bombay's Breach Candy hospital. Visitors could come and chat with the proud father while Mama rested in the special room.

With the coming of the baby, there seems to have been some patch-up of sorts, what with Lata Mausi coming down especially for the delivery, as also to keep an eye on baby Janhavi.

Shah Rukh Khan in trouble

Shah Rukh Khan is hassled.

All of his own making, though.

He had committed himself for a show in Singapore which was to feature Sanjay Dutt, Sushmita Sen, and Juhi Chawla alongwith Namrata Shirodkar.

Then followed a date clash. The Khan merrily altered the date, committing himself to the alternate one, insisting he would organise the rest of the stars and request them. Little did he realise that Sushmita, unlike a Juhi, is a busy star, who would not be able to juggle her dates and nor was Sushmita willing to bend herself backwards to juggle dates for him.

That leaves Shah Rukh hassled as hell, requesting the stars to cooperate.

He even flew to Singapore for a press conference, assuring the sponsors that the show would not be cancelled and that the stars would attend the do.

Now that would be interesting to watch.

For a few praises more!

Nandita Das is finding herself being linked with none other than producer Tutu Sharma, all because she did a guest appearance in his Rockford.

As also because Tutu Sharma has been singing her praises. Incidentally, her guest appearance in Rockford was because she wanted to oblige director Nagesh Kukunoor.

Not that Tutu's wife Padmini Kolhapure is having sleepless nights over her husband's praises. "Tutu is constantly praising all the actresses and genuine talent. Does that mean he is having an affair with all of them?" she chuckles.

Interestingly, Pandi (as she is affectionately called), too, has been doing some singing of her own.

She has been singing Shah Rukh's praises after watching Mohabbatein.

The Khan, for his part, is only too thrilled, considering Padmini is an actress whom he thinks is one of India's best.

Nana's good Samaritan act

Nana Patekar is definitely going out of his way to groom companion Ayesha Jhulka.

He's even helping her friends. Like there is this upcoming actor Nakul Vaid, said to be a close friend of the Jhulka family. So when Rahul Bose opted out of the Nana starrer Vadh being directed by Raj Bharath, Nakul was roped in to fill the breach.

That's not all. Nana is even said to have taken on the task of training Nakul for the role. Some Samaritan, he!

Another Kamal on screen!

Remember Kamal Khan, the singer who gave his voice to Salman Khan for the song Aa aa jaane jaana in Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya?

Well, he is now contemplating facing the camera, and is on the lookout for roles in right earnest.

Not much help, he knows, will forthcoming from the Khan brothers, his good friends. They are too busy designing the launch package of sibling Sohail as hero for their next production.

Also, Kamal's decision has been further reinforced now that his girlfriend, Amirta Arora, the MTV veejay, too, has joined the bandwagon and signed up two films.
