Chori Chori... co-producer remanded

Crime Branch sleuths arrested Rahim Khan Allabaksha Khan, co-producer of Chori Chori Chupke Chupke for alleged links with fugitive gangster Chhota Shakeel late on Wednesday night.

Crime Branch sources said that Rahim was picked up from his residence at D N Nagar in north-west Bombay after interrogating him. He has also admitted to having links with the underworld, the sources said.

He has since been remanded to police custody till December 27, by a special court constituted under the provisions of the Control for Organised Crime Act (Maharashtra) and presided over by Additional Sessions Judge A P Bangale.

The producer of the film Nazim Rizvi was arrested on December 13 and has been remanded to police custody till December 27.

Crime branch sources allege that both Nazim and Rahim have links with underworld don Chhota Shakeel. The officials claim that besides taking money from the underworld to produce the film, Rizvi has conspired with Shakeel to bump off select film personalities.
