Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday won from Kuppam assembly constituency, defeating his Congress rival M Subramanayam Reddy by 59,588 votes.
The counting is over but the details of the votes polled are awaited.
It was a triangular contest in which Naganna alias Sastri was contesting as an independent.
In the 1999 assembly polls, Naidu had got 74.42 per cent of the votes polled and defeated Reddy by 65,687 votes.
