The resignation of Union Minister of State for Environment and Forests Dilip Singh Judeo, in the thick of a controversy over graft allegations, has been accepted.
This was stated by Union Agriculture Minister Rajnath Singh in Raipur on Monday.
Judeo, who was allegedly taped taking a bribe, had sent his resignation letter to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Vajpayee, Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani, Finance Minister Jaswant Singh, Bharatiya Janata Party chief Venkaiah Naidu, party general secretary Pramod Mahajan, BJP chief whip in the Lok Sabha V K Malhotra and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad met at the prime minister's residence to discuss Judeo's fate.
