Six BSF personnel killed, two
injured in militant attack

Election 2002 Six jawans were killed and two injured when militants blasted a vehicle carrying BSF personnel in Awantipora area of Pulwama district on Tuesday, a BSF spokesman said.

Militants detonated an improvised explosive device planted on the main road at Panzgam village when a mini bus carrying BSF personnel back to their camp after poll duty passed by around 1700 hours IST, the spokesman said.

The vehicle was extensively damaged, he said.

No militant outfit has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
