Indian captain Rahul Dravid won the toss and elected to bat in the first cricket Test against South Africa at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Friday.
India, expectedly, included six batsmen and four bowlers in their playing eleven. VRV Singh was picked ahead of Irfan Pathan while Harabhajan Singh was left out.
Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is all set to make his comeback in the Indian team after 10 months. Ganguly pressed his case harder, scoring a battling 83 against Rest of South Africa in the four-day warm-up game in Potchefstroom, which India won by 96 runs.
South Africa, who have promised a fierce pace attack, included five fast bowlers in their eleven.
The match was delayed by an hour and half after the pitch was found to be too moist this morning.
