India vs New Zealand                 October 18, 2003

Day 3: Scorecard | Report | Complete coverage

New Zealand's huge first innings score did not seem to affect the Indian openers as they went about their batting in a positive fashion.

Virender Sehwag and Akash Chopra put on 164 runs for the first wicket in 47.4 overs. This is the highest partnership between the two openers in the series.

Their previous best was 35 in the first innings of the first Test match.
