Umpire Rudi Koertzen reprimands Sourav Ganguly for running on the pitch. He was also fined 2 runs by the umpire.

The Indian captain was earlier cautioned by David Shepherd for the same offence. Running on the pitch is treated as unfair play by the International Cricket Council and a second infringement could result in runs being deducted from a batsman's score.

A third warning attracts a penalty of five runs and the batsman is reported to the match referee.
