King Richards turns 50

Viv Richards was a match-winner. In the 1976 season, he scored 1710 runs at an average of 90.00, a record for a calender year.

Basically an orthodox batsman, with immense power and perfect timing, Richards was an attacking batsman and his entire game was based around that.

He established many batting records, the one that has stood the test of time is his 56 ball century against England in the St.Johns Test in the 1985-86 season.
