Prabhakar's bail plea rejected

A court in Nainital on Tuesday rejected the bail petition filed by former Test cricketer Manoj Prabhakar in a chit fund case, police said.

After hearing the arguments from the prosecution and defence lawyers, Nainital district judge S C Tiwari rejected the bail plea of Prabhakar, who had been remanded to judicial custody till July 21, Kumoun DIG Vijay Raghav Pant informed over telephone.

Meanwhile, the condition of Prabhakar, who was admitted to a private nursing home in Haldwani following brain stroke, "is stable".
