Prabhakar's bail plea hearing adjourned

A Nainital court adjourned till Tuesday the hearing on the bail plea of former Test cricketer Manoj Prabhakar in the chit fund case.

District Judge S C Tiwari adjourned Monday's hearing after the defence lawyers failed to appear in court because of the "haryala" festival, senior Superintendent of Police, Nainital, Jeevan Chandra Pandey informed.

Meanwhile, Prabhakar, who was admitted to a nursing home in Haldwani on July 3 following suspected brain stroke, "is still under treatment and his condition is stable", hospital sources said.

Prabhakar, who was arrested in Delhi on July 2, for allegedly cheating investors, has been remanded to judicial custody till July 21.
