'Too many commissions, asking the RBI ministries for follow up'

Subodh Bhargava

The government's intent is welcome. It recognises the problem because of the inefficiency, spoke of an Expenditure Commission. I look forward to that.

The key issue is growth, industrial. Agri growth will be sustained for some time. But industrial growth is needed.

A number of weaknesses, too many commissions, asking the RBI and other ministries for follow up. The non-plan expenditure, delivery weaknesses, and the exemption regime being curtailed, but allowed for mega power projects. Saddest was when the presentation of the Budget was sought to be stopped on the basis of language. Also on the talk of PSUs. Shows, that political issues continue to prevail.
