Ricky Ponting's 113 in just 93 balls takes him to the top place in the Rediff MVP rankings after day 2. Steve Tikolo is just a point behind with a great all-round performance (72 in 76 balls, an economical bowling performance with 2 wickets, and two catches as well).

Brad Hogg is fourth because of his 40 in just 15 balls and one wicket. Glenn McGrath is seventh because he bowled economically and took three wickets. The Kenyan opener Ouma is eighth because of a steady opener's knock, one stumping and participation in two run outs.

The Chernoff faces of the top nine players are shown below. Recall that the highest ranked player has the longest hair; the batsmen have round faces, eyes wide apart, smaller ears and a wider nose. The more they score, the more they seem to smile (see "Ponting"). The bowlers are quite the opposite: tapered faces, eyes close to each other, bigger ears and a longer nose (see "McGrath").
