Chances of Taleban surrendering Laden dim: Musharraf

Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on Sunday night ruled out Pakistani troops crossing into Afghanistan in any military operation, and termed as 'dim' the prospects of Taleban surrendering Osama bin Laden to the United States.

"I would not like Pakistani troops to cross the border into Afghanistan. I don't think that is the requirement from our troops also," Musharraf told CNN.

He said, "Despite two Pakistani-led missions to Afghanistan we haven't been able to moderate their (Taleban) views on surrendering bin Laden...The hope is dim. One can carry on engaging them, but the signals that come are certainly not encouraging."
