Afghan refugees to be chucked out if Taleban attacks: Pakistan

Pakistan on Thursday said it would order all three million Afghan refugees to go back home, if the Taleban attacks Pakistan following US military strikes on Afghanistan.

"All the refugees will have to go. We can't provide shelter to citizens of a hostile country," a Pakistani official told Online news agency.

"We have already told the United Nations that we cannot afford the menace of refugees any more," he added.

In the last eight days alone more than 50,000 Afghan refugees have poured into Pakistan fearing US military action against Afghanistan in search of Saudi renegade Osama bin Laden.

Washington considers bin Laden, who lives in Afghanistan, the prime suspect in the September 11 terror attacks in the US.
