Indian woman missing after Trade Centre attack

George Joseph in New York

One Indian woman was reported missing after two planes crashed into the World Trade Centre in New York on Tuesday.

Valsa Raju was at her office at the 92nd floor when the first plane hit the tower-1 at around 8.45 am.

Her husband Raju, chief financial officer in a New York hospital, was trying to contact the authorities for information without much luck.

The couple had two children -- daughter Sonia, 9, and son Sanjay, 5.

Valsa Raju had been working at Carr Futures, an investment company, for several years. As usual, she left home at 6:45 am, her brother Sajil said.

Valsa, a native of Ranni in Kerala, came to the US 16 years ago.
