Indian fashion show to be held in London

Two British Indian women are holding a charity fashion show in London next month to raise £100,000.

The show, titled Yagna, will feature top Indian designers Rina Dhaka and Tarun Tahiliani and will be hosted by Kabir and Nikki Bedi.

The event has been organised by Ramola Bachchan and Surina Narula, who have been at the forefront of fundraising in Britain for years.

The £100,000 or more that are likely to be raised will go towards the charities, Care International and The Consortium for Street Children, a spokeswoman for Yagna said on Tuesday.

Several political leaders and screen, stage and television stars are expected to attend the show that will bring in some top models from India.

Bachchan has been campaigning for Care International, which works in 65 developing countries, for several years.

Narula is co-chair of The Consortium for Street Children, which works to promote the rights of street children across the world.
