US, Israel eyeing Pak N-installations: Gul

Former Pakistani intelligence chief Hamid Gul has claimed that the US war against Afghanistan is a conspiracy by Washington and Tel Aviv aimed at destroying Pakistan's nuclear installations.

The former Inter Services Intelligence director general made the claim, while addressing the Lahore High Court Bar Association.

"This is not a war against Afghanistan, but a war against Muslim world, and the US and Israel are preparing to end Pakistan's nuclear technology in the cover of attacks on Afghanistan," Online news agency quoted Gul as saying.

He said the US had become a wild animal and was preparing to attack other Islamic countries in the name of terrorism so that it could deploy its troops in the area and eventually destroy China's economy.

Gul criticised President Pervez Musharraf for backing the US in its war against Afghanistan.

"I am surprised that Musharraf is saying the war against Afghanistan would be short and targeted, while (US President George) Bush has said war could last for months and even years," he said.

The former ISI chief urged the people to take to the streets and strongly protest against the government policies, alleging these were harming national security and integrity.
