24-hour strikes possible: Rumsfeld

United States Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, addressing a joint media briefing in Pentagon with Joint Chiefs Chairman General Robert Myers, said on Tuesday that the US-led coalition could conduct strikes 'more or less around the clock as we wish'.

He said the air attacks carried out for the past three days have hit every airfield in Afghanistan, except one.

He added the US was encouraging the Afghan opposition, including the Northern Alliance, to combat the Taleban.

Myers displayed satellite photos, he said showed the destruction of an Al Qaeda terrorist training camp, in Garmabak Ghar in Kandahar.
