The US can expect more attacks: Osama

In a video believed to have been made during the daylight hours of Sunday October 7 and released by the Al Jazeera satellite channel on Friday, Suleiman Abu Gheit, an aide of Osama bin Laden, reading from a statement issued by bin Laden himself, said that the US "war against Afghanistan and against Osama bin Laden is a 'war on Islam."

In the video, bin Laden warns the United States that it will never enjoy peace and security unless Muslim territories are safe from US imperialism.

"To America I say I swear by God the great... America will never taste security and safety unless we feel security and safety in our lands and in Palestine."

"What happened in the United States is a natural reaction to the ignorant policy of the United States," bin Laden said in his statement. "If it continues with this policy, the sons of Islam will not stop their struggle. The American people have to know that what is happening to them now is the result of their support of this policy."

The video shows bin Laden kneeling in a stone cave, flanked by two supporters and with a gun beside him.

Towards the end of the video, bin Laden speaks directly into the microphone.

"America is full of fear from its north to its south, from its west to its east. Thank God for that," bin Laden said, while warning US citizens they should fear further attacks.

"They will not feel safe until the troops of the United States of America withdraw from the Muslim holy places. They supported murder so God has given them back what they deserve," bin Laden said.

Calling on Muslims the world over to support the Taleban, bin Laden in his statement says, "These events have split the world into two camps - belief and disbelief. Every Muslim should support his religion."

Describing US President George W Bush as the "head of the infidels", bin Laden says, "Millions of innocent children are being killed in Iraq and in Palestine and we don't hear a word from the infidels. We don't hear a raised voice. When the sword falls on the United States, they cry for their children and they cry for their people. The least you can say about these people is that they are sinners. They have helped evil triumph over good."
