US forces 'tightening the noose' on bin Laden

Deputy Director of US Operations Rear Admiral John Stufflebeem claimed his forces are 'tightening the noose' around Osama bin Laden.

However, he said he not sure how close they are to getting the suspected mastermind of terrorist attacks on the United States.

"Do we know how close we are? That's a very difficult question to ask, because I'm sure that there are times when we feel very close, and other times it's a shadow," he said.

Timely, accurate information has been difficult to obtain and bin Laden 'is an elusive character,' Stufflebeem added.
