 About the Game

A rowing race called a boat-race or regatta. Rowers sit with their back to the direction of advance and row with a single-point locked oar. Therefore, the backs of players reach the goal first, and a leading crew can advantageously watch rivals.

The rowing event includes sweep and scull. In the sweep, a rower holds a oar with both hands; in the scull, a rower holds on oar with the right hand and another with the left. The event is further sub-divided based on the number of rowers and the presence of coxswain (generally called cox). There is another classification based on weight: Light (crew members average weight: 70kg or less) and Heavy.

The sweep is sub-divided into 5 events: 2 w/ cox; 2 w/o cox; 4 w/ cox; 4 w/o cox; 8. The scull is sub-divided into 3; Single, Double and Quadruple. All scull events are wihout coxswain.
