 About the Game


A player wearing white uniform and a wire-mesh mask attacks the opponent's body with a steel sword, thus gaining points. The fencing competition consists of 3 events, based on the swords used: foil, epee and sabre. Only stabbing is allowed for foil and epee; stabbing and cutting are allowed for sabre.
Foil
Fencers gain a point when successfully stabbing the opponent on any parts of the upper halfof the body, excluding the limbs and head. While the opponent is is attacking, the player defends and then counterattacks.
Epee
Any part of the body can be attacked. The 1st successful stab decides a victory. If the contest is not decided in the specified time, both fencers lose.
Sabre
Fencers are allowed to attack the opponent on the parts higher than the wrinkle of the fencer's uniform formed between the upper part of the body and thigh.
Preliminary:
4 minute, 5 point bonus.
Final:
9 minute, 15 point bout.
