Leander Paes and his American doubles partner Scott Lipsky went down in the final of the Auckland Open on Saturday.
They were beaten by top seeds Martin Damm of Czech Republic and Robert Lindstedt of Sweden 7-5, 6-4.
It was the 36-year-old Damm's 38th career doubles title, while Lindstedt has four.
Paes was in line for his 500th doubles win. By entering the final at Auckland, after a 6-3, 6-7(4), 10-7 win over Paul Hanley and Jordan Kerr of Australia, he completed 499 victories.
