Upbeat after winning the Australian Open mixed doubles crown in the company of Sania Mirza, tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi declared that he would continue teaming with the Hyderabadi ace in subsequent Grand Slam tournaments this year.
"Sania is playing great tennis. She hits the ball very hard and complements my kind of play at the net. We are always going to be a very dangerous mixed doubles team," Bhupathi said.
"Sania had recovered from her wrist injury very well. It was heartening to see her back again and she is playing very well. Sania is a quality player," he said, adding that hopefully she would be free of injuries for the coming tournaments.
Bhupathi also said he will partner Mark Knowles in subsequent Grand Slams doubles events and pair with Leander Paes while playing for India in Davis Cup doubles.
Asked if there is lack of tennis infrastructure in the country, he replied, "I do not find any problem with the infrastructure in our country. We have more than enough courts and tennis academies. Maybe we are little short of expertise. Luckily, we have four or five quality coaches in India."
Bhupathi also lauded the performance of 16-year old Yuki Bhambri, who won the Australian junior open singles title.
"Yuki is the best junior player in the country. Yuki is confident and has a bright future," he added.
