Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi were given a rousing reception on return to Mumbai on Monday morning after winning the Australian Open mixed doubles title.
The Indian pair beat Nathalie Dechy (France) and Andy Ram (Israel) 6-3, 6-1 in the final in Melbourne on Sunday.
Sania, who was down with a wrist injury that kept her out of action for most of last year, said she is happy to win her first Grand Slam crown.
"It's a great way to come back, especially what happened in the last six-seven months," said Sania, the first Indian woman to win a Grand Slam title.
While the mixed doubles champions arrived in Mumbai, Australian Open boys' singles winner Yuki Bhambri flew into New Delhi.
