Fourth seeds Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy crashed out of the Miami Masters after a shocking straight sets defeat at the hands of the unseeded Czech-Slovak pair of Frantisek Cermak and Michal Mertinak in the men's doubles second round.
The Indo-Czech combine went down 3-6, 3-6 in the just over an hour.
In a match that was surprisingly lop-sided, the fourth seeds were left to rue missed opportunities, as they frittered away three break-points in the first set itself.
Cermak and Mertinak broke Paes and Dlouhy twice before going 1-0 up.
The second set followed almost a similar script with Cermak and Mertinak becoming more dominant. The unseeded duo broke Paes and Dlouhy twice again, besides holding their own serve, to wrap up the issue in their favour.
Paes's exit leaves Sania Mirza as the lone Indian in the fray at the US $4.5 million event.
The Hyderabadi has made the quarter-finals of the women's doubles, teaming up with Taiwan's Chuang Chia-jung.
Mahesh Bhupathi, partnering Mark Knowles of Bahamas, bowed out of men's doubles in the first round itself.
