Everton manager David Moyes admitted an FA charge of improper conduct on Monday after his reaction to a decision by the referee in a Premier League match against Stoke City two weeks ago.

In a statement on the club's website (www.evertonfc.com) Everton said Moyes admitted the charge and has requested a personal hearing with the FA's disciplinary panel.

Moyes was angered by a decision after Stoke's Leon Cort handled the ball inside the penalty area. Referee Alan Wiley pointed to the penalty spot but then changed his decision after consulting his linesman, awarding Everton a free kick outside the box instead.

Everton also lodged an appeal with the FA on Monday against Tim Cahill's red card against Liverpool on Saturday.

The Australia forward was sent off 10 minutes from the end of Saturday's 2-0 defeat in the Merseyside derby for a late challenge on Xabi Alonso and faces a three-match ban for a straight red card.
