Odafe Okolie's double strike in the second half guided Churchill Brothers to an impressive 2-1 victory win over Durand Cup champions Mahindra United in their opening match in the ONGC I-League at the Nehru stadium, Fatorda, Goa, on Saturday.
Churchill, who in the process avenged their Durand Cup defeat, took the lead in the 61st minute through Okolie.
Mahindra United restored parity in the 85th minute through substituteSushil Kumar Shinde, whose header found the far corner of the net off a free-kick taken by Douhou Pierre.
Odafe, who was the live wire in Churchill's attack, then scored the winner in the 90th minute when he uncorked a 30-yard shot that found the roof of the net.
