India's [ Images ] Rohan Bopanna [ Images ] and Belarussian partner Max Mirnyi [ Images ] lost the doubles final of the St Petersburg [ Images ] Open in St Petersburg, Russia [ Images ] on Sunday.

The unseeded Indo-Belarussian pair were beaten 6-3, 6-7 (4), 8-10 by Travis Parott of the United States and Filip Polasek of Slovakia in the decider.

Bopanna and Mirnyi had earlier defeated Mikhail Mertinak of Slovakia and Lovro Zovko of Croatia [ Images ] 7-5, 6-2 in their last four match on Saturday and their opponents had edged Mikhail Elgin and Alexandre Kudryavstev of Russia 7-5, 4-6, 10-6 to set up what turned out to be a memorable final.
