Sukhminder Singh's 52nd minute strike helped Mahindra United score a solitary goal victory over JCT in the ONGC I-League fourth round match at the Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana on Saturday.
Though the home side dominated the proceedings in the first session they failed to capitalise on the chances which came their way. Mahindra also wasted a couple of scoring opportunities but found the net when it mattered the most.
After the barren first half, the visitors went ahead in the 52nd minute through a well knitted move initiated by Edeh Chidi who gave a parallel pass to striker Sukhminder who slammed the ball into the net.
This was Mahindra's first win in this year's I-League helping them jump off the bottom with three points in four games, while JCT with seven points from four matches slipped to fourth.
