National champion Chetan Anand and Aditi Mutatkar sailed into the semi-finals even as the mixed doubles pair of Jwala Gutta and V Diju crashed out, in the Dutch Open badminton tournament in Amsterdam on Friday.
In the women's singles, Aditi defeated Indonesia's Rosaria Yusfin Pungkasari 12-21, 21-13, 21-18 in a 50-minute battle, while sixth seed Chetan got the better off 13th seed Ari Yuli W Hartanto of Indonesia 21-8, 21-16 in 29 minutes to stay on course for his third consecutive title.
However, it was not all hunky dory for India's shuttlers as the Diju-Gutta pair hit a low after last week's high, going down 21-10, 21-15 to the Dane pair of Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen in the quater-finals.
Another Indian in the fray, P Kashyap will lock horns with local player Dicky Palyama in the men's singles quarter-finals.
Gutta will combine with her doubles partner Shruti Kurian to take on German duo of Johanna Goliszewski and Michaela Peiffer, while the men's double pair of Rupesh Kumar and Sanave Thomas will cross swords with German duo of Kristof Hopp and Johannes Schoettler.
