Riding on his sizzling performance in the Japan Open, Leander Paes is once again knocking the doors of the top-five zone as he gained two spots to be placed sixth in the ATP doubles world rankings, issued on Monday.
Paes and Lukas Dlouhy reached the final of the Japan Open last week but lost the summit clash, missing out on the opportunity to pocket back-to-back ATP titles.
Paes, who now has 3060 points, along with Dlouhy, won the Thailand Open before taking court in Tokyo.
Paes's estranged partner Mahesh Bhupathi remains at the 12th position with 2680 points.
In the women's singles ranking, out of action Sania Mirza is on the verge of dropping out of top-100 as she lost seven places to be 98th in the latest WTA rankings.
