Saina Nehwal and Arvind Bhatt continued their fine form to storm into the quaterfinals even as compatriot Chetan Anand fell by the wayside in the Hong Kong Super Series badminton tournament on Thursday.
Saina quelled Korean Youn Joo Bae's challenge 21-15, 12-21, 21-13 in 49 minutes in the women's singles second round match to set up a last eight clash with Hong Kong's Chen Wang who handed a straight game defeat to Judith Meulendijks of the Netherlands 21-18, 21-5.
Arvind thrashed Yan Kit Chan of Hong Kong 21-14, 21-19 in a lopsided 32-minute men's second round contest to set up a clash with Boonsak Ponsana of Thailand in the quarterfinals.
However, it was curtains for highest ranked Indian Chetan Anand. Up against world number three and third seed Jin Chen of China, Chetan just could not match his class and was sent packing in straight-games in the second round.
World number 14 Chetan huffed and puffed but just could not put up a fight and was thumped 11-21, 12-21 in just 27 minutes.
