Midfielder Steven Gerrard will miss England's friendly against Germany in Berlin on Wednesday after picking up a groin strain in Liverpool's 2-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
"A scan this morning has confirmed a tear in the adductor magnus muscle in his right leg and he is expected to be out between seven to 10 days," the club said on www.liverpoolfc.tv on Sunday.
England have already lost Manchester United duo Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand, Joe and Ashley Cole of Chelsea and Wigan Athletic striker Emile Heskey.
Captain John Terry could also miss out with a foot injury.
