Top seed Saina Nehwal stormed into the final of the girls' singles of the World junior badminton championship, even as compatriot RMV Gurusaidutt crashed out in the semi-finals in the boys' category in Pune on Saturday.
Saina had no problems in quelling the challenge of third seed Shixian Wang of China, needing just 37 minutes to post a 22-20, 21-12 victory.
The Indian ace, who entered the Beijing Olympics quarter-finals, will face ninth seed Sayaka Sato in Sunday's summit clash.
However, another Indian, fifth seed Gurusaidutt's journey in the tournament ended as he went down fighting to third seed Zhengming Wang of China 16-21, 21-17, 17-21 in a thrilling encounter that lasted 47 minutes.
