Fourth seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles returned to winning ways with a 3-6, 6-3, 10-5 win over Czechs Tomas Berdych and Lukas Dlouhy in the first round of the Miami Masters on Saturday.
Bhupathi-Knowles had put together a 10 match winning streak with titles in Memphis and Dubai before losing in the Indian Wells quarterfinals to eventual champions Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram.
They will nest face Igor Andreev of Russia and Belgian Xavier Malisse, who were 6-0, 6-3 winners over Scandinavian pair of Robert Lindstedt and Jarkko Nieminen.
Top seeds Bob and Mike Bryan were extended to a match tie-break in their first round match against Spanish duo Rafael Nadal and Tommy Robredo
The Bryan twins, looking for their first title of 2008, battled to a 7-6(5), 3-6, 10-5 victory over Nadal-Robredo.
On Friday, Leander Paes and Paul Hanley beat Swiss Yves Allegro and Paul-Henri Mathieu of France 2-6, 6-0, 10-3 in the first round.
