Sunitha Rao and her French partner Aurelie Vedy went down fighting against top-seeded Chinese combination of Chun-Mei Ji and Sheng-Nan Sun in the doubles final of the $ 50,000 ITF women's event in New Delhi on Friday.
The second-seeded Indo-French pair pocketed the first set but eventually lost 6-2, 2-6, 4-10 at the DLTA Complex.
The winners get 35 WTA points and split $ 2660 as prize money while the runners-up earn 25 WTA points and $ 1425.
Meanwhile, fourth seed Belgian Yanina Wickmayer and Belarusian Ekaterina Dzehalevich set up the singles title clash after winning the semifinal clashes.
Wickmayer defeated eighth seed Naomi Cavady of Great Britain 6-1 6-3, while Ekaterina overcame a fighting Margit Ruutel of Estonia 6-4, 0-6, 7-5 in the other semifinal.
The winner will earn 35 WTA points and a cash prize of $ 7315, while the runner-up will bag 25 points and $ 3990
