Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is very keen to join Inter Milan, the Italian club's director Gabriele Oriali said on Thursday.
Chelsea said this week they would not enter into negotiations with the Serie A champions over the England player, who has a year left on his contract.
"We have done everything possible," Oriali told Mediaset television. "What is certain is that the player strongly wants to come to Inter."
New Inter coach Jose Mourinho is keen to link up again with Lampard having won two Premier League titles with the 30-year-old while in charge at Chelsea.
Oriali was speaking after coming to an initial agreement with AS Roma about signing their Brazilian midfielder Mancini.
The deal is due to be completed next week but the Lampard saga is expected to drag on.
